Gomez type7, a heavier, more aggressive evolution

It is 1g heavier than the previous Gomez type6, which weighed a shocking 20.5g, and this time 95% tungsten is used to produce that weight.
Another noteworthy point is that it is the first in the Gomez series to have a front center of gravity.
By having a front center of gravity, the weight of the darts can be felt firmly.
Compared to the micro-cut in the rear grip area, the new darts have a wider cut, and the weight of the darts can be felt more clearly.
By placing another cut within that one cut
The grip is more comfortable, and the force is transmitted to the barrel with less force.
The micro-cut is the first of its kind in the Gomez series, and it is also the first micro-cut in the front part of the barrel.
When grouping darts, the cuts collide with each other to create friction, which causes the darts to gather together as if they are entangled.
For those who have 3~4 grips, this forward micro-cut assists in stabilizing the grip.

Yuki Yamada has been working hard to create a barrel that is one level above the rest in order to compete on the world stage.

対談インタビュー

インタビューゴメス7の発売決定おめでとうございます。率直に使ってみての感想を教えてください。
山田勇樹予想通りの部分と、予想を超えた部分を併せ持ったバレルになりました。2015年のPERFECT最終戦から使っていて、決勝戦でもすごく良いダーツを打って優勝して、良い1年の締めくくりになったなと感じてました。更に2016年開幕戦も優勝したので、すぐに発売したいと考えていたんですが、前のカットで悩みました。カットをつけると今度は外形と重さが変わってくるので、それに結構時間がかかりましたね。
インタビュー前作と比べてスペックが大きく変更になりましたが、ポイントはどのような部分でしょうか？
山田勇樹僕はソフトダーツのプロなので、ソフトを投げ続けることによって、ハードも上手くなりたいと考えています。なので、ハードダーツと全く同じ感覚で投げられることを重視しました。今日のバレル制作技術で、スティールポイントのついたハードダーツと、ソフトチップのついたソフトダーツを一緒にすることは出来ると信じていましたので、ソフトの良い所、ハードの良い所をお互いに歩み寄らせて出来たのが、今回のゴメス7というわけです。
インタビューアウトラインを見てみると、前作ゴメス6ではシャフト側にストレート部分を設けていました。当時はあれが予想以上に良かったとおっしゃっていましたが、今作ではゴメス5のようにテーパーとなっていますね。
山田勇樹グリップ部分の「持ってる感」が若干足りないと感じるようになりました。やっぱり太い方が、しっくり来たので。「重さを感じる」というのは、矢を3本投げる上での絶対条件なんです。"ダーツ"という物体を投げ込む感覚、ハードダーツでは特に大事ですね。ソフトダーツはだいたい飛ばせていれば、ある程度融通が効くんですが、ハードダーツではビシっと飛ばせないと入らないからですね。
インタビュー今作ではゴメスシリーズ初となるフロント部分全体にカットが入っています。これにはどういった狙いがあるのでしょうか？
山田勇樹ダーツがグルーピングした時に、しっかりと絡むようにカットをつけました。ハードダーツでは、先に投げた矢が邪魔をするというのが、ソフトダーツに比べて多くなります。なので、先行のダーツが「邪魔」ではなく「助ける」ようになっていると思います。Qスクールに参加した際に、現地のプレイヤーに「前にカットの入っていないバレルを作る意味が分からない」くらいに指摘されました(笑)　自分のモデルを6個も出しても、まだ発見があるか！って思いました。投げ方、持ち方はずっと変わらなくても、バレルはこうしたいって案が浮かぶので、ダーツって奥が深いですよね。
インタビュー山田プロは去年、JAPAN DARTS MASTERSやQスクールといったPDCの舞台を経験されて、いかがでしたか？
山田勇樹とにかく強かったです。負けるのはわかっていて。でも、どうにかなるかもしれないとも思っていましたが、どうにもならなかったです。こんな気持ちは久々に味わいましたね。レグ数も長いので大番狂わせが起きにくく、実力差が如実に出ます。

あとは、やっぱり気持ちが熱い時にQスクールに行けたっていうのが、とても大きかったですね。みんなにもぜひ挑戦してもらいたいと思います。「日本で通用しなきゃ、世界に行けない」っていう考え方はやめた方がいいです。もしかしたら、向こうで花開くかもしれません。むしろ若い人は向こうで育った方が、強いプレイヤーになる可能性もありますよ。急速にPDCの情報が入ってくるようになったので、あとはもう誰が先に活躍するかっていう、時間の問題だと思います。
インタビューそれでは最後になりますが、今年の抱負を教えてください。
山田勇樹PERFECT10周年という記念すべき年に、年間ランキング1位を獲って名を刻むことです。それから来年にはオーダーオブメリットに入れるように、その地盤作りを今年はしていくつもりです。情報がまだまだ少なすぎるので、出る人間としては知っておかなければいけないですよね。「目標はどんどん塗り替えられる」という楽しみもあるので、PERFECTとPDCの二本柱で頑張っていきたいです！　抱負というよりはミッションですかね。大きな目標で「世界チャンピオン」とか言いたいんですが、それにはまだまだ遠いので、今はやめておきます(笑)

Test pitched at the tournament site.

As you can see from the videos of Yamada's competitions in 2014 and 2015, the barrel is very "aggressive" due to its front center of gravity.
It may be difficult for swinging types to balance the barrel, but I feel that pushing types will be able to send it flying right to the target.

It is heavy, but to be honest, you get used to the weight.

I don't like the design that much, but I would like to throw the 21.5g weight of the barrel alone.
I think that recently, there are more and more barrels with a large barrel weight. This is a welcome trend for me, as I prefer heavy barrels.

There was one item that clearly had a different center of gravity.
The cut was also messy, to the point where I wondered if they were even inspecting the item.
The manufacturer was able to replace it, but I give it one star because of the poor response.
I felt that the weight of 21.5g, which is the biggest feature of this barrel, makes it a barrel that is not suitable for everyone.
I think it would be better to buy it after you have tried it.

I changed it from Gomez 6, and I personally think it gives the impression that it flies there more than 6 if you put it out there honestly.

It may be confusing at first if you start with a lighter weight, but once you get used to it, I think it will be easier to throw.

Great barrels. I've been waiting for something like this!

I was switching from hard to soft, so I prefer a heavier barrel.

A heavy barrel makes it difficult to achieve a fast initial velocity due to the law of inertia. Therefore, it is necessary to make the cut tighter or to have a larger step to make the finger grip stronger.
The Gomez 6 is a very good barrel, but I felt that the micro-cut was not tight enough and it was prone to blurring in the vertical direction. I thought this was a blurring of the release point, but after using the Gomez 7, it became clear to me that I was not getting a constant initial velocity.

Gomez 7 is heavy but has a weight that provides a stable initial velocity and eliminates the left-right blurring by canceling out the uneven finger release. The cut is so exquisite that I feel the grip point at the maximum diameter is also a major factor in eliminating left-right blurring.

Furthermore, the darts have a very clear forward center of gravity, so they fly in a straight line with almost no descent from the release point. Also, because the darts have a short time to look up after release, the flight can be selected to be the smallest, which is very powerful for grouping.

As for the cut in the front, I am not sure how effective it is yet.
In terms of design, I preferred the Gomez 6.

I think it is a very reasonable and great barrel.
