The first TRiNiDAD professional model to feature an octagon cut.

The Gomez Type 8 is the first TRiNiDAD pro model to feature an octagonal cut.
With the Gomez Type 8, the cut of the grip has been drastically changed.
Instead of a micro cut, a regular ring cut is used to improve the grip strength.
The octagonal octagon cut has been adopted for the first time in a professional model to improve the grip fit.
We also lengthened the center straight part to make the center of gravity more forward, and improved the grip to be wider and more sensible.
It is a new weapon that has evolved with the changes in Yuki Yamada.

対談インタビュー

インタビュー新作バレルの発売決定おめでとうございます。ゴメス8はどんなバレルに仕上がりましたか？
山田勇樹ゴメス史上、最高のバレルです。絶対に前作を超えてやるぞ、という気持ちで作ってますからね。メーカーにもだいぶワガママ聞いてもらって、自分が本当に信頼できるものが出来ました。
インタビュー一番の特徴であるオクタゴンカット。これを採用するに至った経緯を教えてください。
山田勇樹もう1年以上前になりますかね。Xシリーズのイベンダーを投げてみたときに「ヤバイ！これいい！」って思ってから、ずっと興味があったんです。8作目に八角形というのも、何か感じるものがありましたね。プロトの段階ですぐに八角形のリクエストを出しました。
インタビューオクタゴンカットはメリットはいかがでしょう？
山田勇樹普通の円だと、グリップした際に指の中で転がりすぎることがあったんですよね。それが八角形だと転がりすぎないし、逆に転がせないこともない。最初は「毎回同じ面で持てなかったらどうしよう？」とか思っていたんですが、八角形であれば感覚的にはグリップがビシッと決まりますね。違和感がない、というよりも、むしろ投げやすかったです。とにかく自分が使いやすいと思うものを作る——やるべきことは、もうこの1点のみです。
インタビュー前作よりもストレート部分が広くなりました。どういった理由ですか？
山田勇樹重心を少しでも前にするためです。間違えて欲しくないのは、前重心ということではないことです。ソフトダーツとハードダーツの重心を同じするために、ソフトダーツの重心を前に移動させて、一方ハードダーツは重心を後ろにすることで解決しました。グリップ部分、重心、全長が同じなら、ソフトもハードも同じように投げられるんじゃないか、と考えたわけです。
インタビュー山田プロにとって2回目となるQスクールと、それに伴う1ヶ月間のイギリス滞在はいかがでしたか？
山田勇樹Qスクールは技術的に未熟で苦戦しながら、最終日になんとか調整出来たかなーという感じでした。それよりはUKオープンに焦点を合わせていたので、毎日毎日投げまくってました。イギリス滞在中の平日は、朝起きて、フィジカルトレーニングして、ストレッチして、ダーツの練習して......というメニューで週末の試合に向けて仕上げるサイクルでした。

壊れた感覚を取り戻せた1ヶ月、フィジカルトレーニングをすることでどんなダーツが出来るかを知ることが出来た1ヶ月。また、ワールドカップ・オブ・ダーツの代表に選ばれたのも、UKオープンに出て賞金を獲得したからでしょうね。収穫だらけでした。行ってよかったと、すごく思います。

今後は、みんなにももっとイギリスにチャレンジして欲しいと思っています。毎年30～40人挑戦して、誰かしら引っかかる、みたいな。今のダーツプレイヤーは大会で海外に行くことが増えてきたわけですから、そのうちの1回をイギリスにすることくらい全然出来ると思います。それくらい気軽なものとして捉えられるようになればいいですね。
インタビュー2017シーズンのPERFECTの序盤戦を戦ってみて、調子はどうでしょう？
山田勇樹オフシーズンのイギリス修行で、だいぶ基礎固めが出来たので調子良いですね。レギュレーションの変わった今年のPERFECTでの戦い方が分かった序盤戦、という感じです。今後は自分に課題を与えて、実践を想定した練習をしていきます。結構好きなんですよね、黙々とひとりで取り組むの。ここから巻き上げていきますよ！
インタビューそれでは最後になりますが、今年の抱負をお願いします！
山田勇樹毎年同じですが、PERFECTのシリーズランキング1位獲得ですね。それとは別に、だいぶ長期的な目標ですが、将来のダーツを見据えた自分づくりをしていきたいです。身体、技術、仕事内容の三本柱で何年もやっていける環境を作り上げていきたいと思ってます。これが一番の目標ですかね。自分を変えていきたいです。

First and foremost, it's easy to grip!
Thanks to the octagonal cut, the grip point is captured in a plane, and I no longer have to worry about the arrow tip going down. The barrel itself has a packed feel, so even if there is a slight discrepancy in the grip point, it does not bother me.

And it's weight is fantastic!
With so much weight, it is easy to feel the weight and throw without effort.
I imagine the barrel does the work for me when I throw. The weight of the barrel makes the ball fly from a certain release point and grouping is possible.

This is a barrel that you should just throw and throw.

I had pre-ordered it and it arrived so I threw it right away.
I think the feel is the same as the Gomez 7.
Also, the grip part is octagon cut, so you don't have to worry about the grip anymore.
I would definitely recommend this barrel to those who like heavy barrels and are not sure about their grip.

Got the barrel in the mail today, and I've been throwing it around!
The weight of the barrel is the same as the Gomez 7, and of course it flies great, but with the newly adopted octagon cut, I no longer have any doubts about my grip! I was especially shocked at how well the barrel released after I threw it, in my personal opinion! I had purchased the Gomez 7 before and was completely hooked by the 21.5g weight of the barrel, so this is the best barrel for me!
This barrel is not only for advanced players, but also for those who feel uncomfortable with darts in their hands.
I'm going for A flight with this barrel!

It says the weight is 21.5g, but when you hold it
I think you can throw it without worrying about the weight!
Also, the cut has an octagonal cut.
The octagonal cut also makes it possible to have the same grip every time!

Anyway, I think this barrel is easy to throw and has no habit.

I have been using the Gomez series since the Gomez 7, and I was even more shocked to find such a good barrel in the 7.
As for the 7, the cut was worn off with use and the finger grip was reduced early on, but the 8 seems to maintain the grip for a long time thanks to the octagonal cut.
In addition to the weight of 21.5g, which is the same weight as the 7, the octagon cut does a good job. The cut is also exquisitely balanced, but I think the octagon cut and the weight are the features of Gomez 8.
