Model devised by Yuki Yamada [Gomez Type8 Steel].

The shape is different from the 2BA. What is the reason?

The length of the barrel is 1.3mm shorter than the 2BA type.
The barrel body is 1.3mm shorter than the 2BA type, which is the same length as the 2BA type with soft tip.
And the grip part is the same but completely different forward shape.
At the same time, the front of the dart is narrowed in order to grouping to a narrower target of hard darts.
The center of gravity is precisely calculated to be the same as the 2BA type when setting.
Yuki Yamada fights with both soft darts and hard darts.
2BA and STEEL, it is a steel model that thoroughly focused on the point that can be thrown with the same feeling.

対談インタビュー

インタビュー新作バレルの発売決定おめでとうございます。ゴメス8はどんなバレルに仕上がりましたか？
山田勇樹ゴメス史上、最高のバレルです。絶対に前作を超えてやるぞ、という気持ちで作ってますからね。メーカーにもだいぶワガママ聞いてもらって、自分が本当に信頼できるものが出来ました。
インタビュー一番の特徴であるオクタゴンカット。これを採用するに至った経緯を教えてください。
山田勇樹もう1年以上前になりますかね。Xシリーズのイベンダーを投げてみたときに「ヤバイ！これいい！」って思ってから、ずっと興味があったんです。8作目に八角形というのも、何か感じるものがありましたね。プロトの段階ですぐに八角形のリクエストを出しました。
インタビューオクタゴンカットはメリットはいかがでしょう？
山田勇樹普通の円だと、グリップした際に指の中で転がりすぎることがあったんですよね。それが八角形だと転がりすぎないし、逆に転がせないこともない。最初は「毎回同じ面で持てなかったらどうしよう？」とか思っていたんですが、八角形であれば感覚的にはグリップがビシッと決まりますね。違和感がない、というよりも、むしろ投げやすかったです。とにかく自分が使いやすいと思うものを作る——やるべきことは、もうこの1点のみです。
インタビュー前作よりもストレート部分が広くなりました。どういった理由ですか？
山田勇樹重心を少しでも前にするためです。間違えて欲しくないのは、前重心ということではないことです。ソフトダーツとハードダーツの重心を同じするために、ソフトダーツの重心を前に移動させて、一方ハードダーツは重心を後ろにすることで解決しました。グリップ部分、重心、全長が同じなら、ソフトもハードも同じように投げられるんじゃないか、と考えたわけです。
インタビュー山田プロにとって2回目となるQスクールと、それに伴う1ヶ月間のイギリス滞在はいかがでしたか？
山田勇樹Qスクールは技術的に未熟で苦戦しながら、最終日になんとか調整出来たかなーという感じでした。それよりはUKオープンに焦点を合わせていたので、毎日毎日投げまくってました。イギリス滞在中の平日は、朝起きて、フィジカルトレーニングして、ストレッチして、ダーツの練習して......というメニューで週末の試合に向けて仕上げるサイクルでした。

壊れた感覚を取り戻せた1ヶ月、フィジカルトレーニングをすることでどんなダーツが出来るかを知ることが出来た1ヶ月。また、ワールドカップ・オブ・ダーツの代表に選ばれたのも、UKオープンに出て賞金を獲得したからでしょうね。収穫だらけでした。行ってよかったと、すごく思います。

今後は、みんなにももっとイギリスにチャレンジして欲しいと思っています。毎年30～40人挑戦して、誰かしら引っかかる、みたいな。今のダーツプレイヤーは大会で海外に行くことが増えてきたわけですから、そのうちの1回をイギリスにすることくらい全然出来ると思います。それくらい気軽なものとして捉えられるようになればいいですね。
インタビュー2017シーズンのPERFECTの序盤戦を戦ってみて、調子はどうでしょう？
山田勇樹オフシーズンのイギリス修行で、だいぶ基礎固めが出来たので調子良いですね。レギュレーションの変わった今年のPERFECTでの戦い方が分かった序盤戦、という感じです。今後は自分に課題を与えて、実践を想定した練習をしていきます。結構好きなんですよね、黙々とひとりで取り組むの。ここから巻き上げていきますよ！
インタビューそれでは最後になりますが、今年の抱負をお願いします！
山田勇樹毎年同じですが、PERFECTのシリーズランキング1位獲得ですね。それとは別に、だいぶ長期的な目標ですが、将来のダーツを見据えた自分づくりをしていきたいです。身体、技術、仕事内容の三本柱で何年もやっていける環境を作り上げていきたいと思ってます。これが一番の目標ですかね。自分を変えていきたいです。

I also purchased the Gomez 8 software this time, so I bought it together.
In my personal opinion, the 7 steel darts were honestly not that good...but after watching Yuki Yamada's impression video, I purchased the Gomez 8 with high expectations. As a result, the Gomez 8 is the perfect steel dart. I was surprised to see that the Gomez 8 has a thinner tip than the 7, which gives it more grouping power, which is more important in steel darts, and above all, the feeling of throwing the Gomez 8 is the same as throwing the soft version. If you are using the Gomez 8 soft tip and would like to try throwing a hard tip, this is definitely the steel dart for you.

It's great!
I can throw it with the exact same feel and balance as soft!
I never thought I could throw a hardball with the same feel as a softball!
The unique shape of the front part can be recognized when you hold it!
I will definitely buy a second set when I find them at the store because I don't know when I will come across barrels like this again.
