I purchased and received both 2.1 and 2.2 and threw them together for a few hours.

I have to say about the 2.2, the grip is no-groove, so I think the hand release is very good without getting caught in any weird way.
However, if you have a shallow thumb grip, it may slip if your hands are dry.
The feeling I got was similar to the no-groove grip of the Rapier 2.

Unfortunately, the silver tungsten is coated with a black coating, so the coating on the grip area peels off when dropped or grouped. I have only thrown it for a few hours and already the grip area is scratched all over.
Especially if you also bought the 2.1, you should never mix the 2.2 with the 2.1. 2.2 will get hit by the 2.1 cut.
Therefore, I recommend that you also store them in a proper case, separately from tips and flights.

The 2.2 barrel itself is a 5, but I gave it a 4 because it is so easily scratched.
Sorry Mr. Halki.

I purchased both 2.1 and 2.2.

It's like rapier 2 and rapier 2 no groove.
This time, the 2.1 has a stronger cut, and I think the personality difference is much more pronounced.
My preference is 2.2 with no cut.

2.2 is quite close to the feeling of rapier 2NG.
I think the 2.2 will last a long time because it is not affected by the condition of the cut.
The coating will come off, though.

I guess there is a way to throw it, but the first Rising Sun lands with a Zdon! while the 2.2 lands with a bang! The 2.2 lands with a bang.
It is strange that they are the same weight.

This is a transition from the original Rising Sun.
This barrel has disappointed my expectations in a good way.
The grip part, I thought it would have a rough feel on the outside, but when I actually touched it, even though it was new, it was moist and felt immediately comfortable in my hand.
The dimples are gone from the first generation, but on the other hand, it is a good barrel because it is not dimpled. The taper makes it fly sharp.
Also, the thicker grip gives me a greater sense of security personally.
The fact that it is a no-groove makes it a barrel that can be used for a long time.
It is the simplest barrel I have ever used, but I think it is the barrel made with the most attention to detail.
Please try to experience the moist feeling of this grip.

I used the first generation Rising Sun -> DMC Saber Masumi and bought it this time as a transfer.
I chose 2.2 because I had the first generation and could not get used to the tight cut like 2.1.

My impression after using it is that the weight may bother you at first if you have been throwing lighter barrels. (Saber Masumi 16.2g Rising Sun 2.2 21.5g)
But the barrel itself is a good barrel that exceeds the first generation.
It is a no-groove barrel with no cut, but the new sandblasted grip has a nice taste.
I had an image of it being rough like a file, too. But it was not like that, it is a moist grip that fits in your hand.

The Rising Sun 2.2 is a good barrel with a good hand release due to its no-groove feature and no mistakes such as one finger catching on the other, and the new grip gives you a good gripping feel.
However, I would not recommend it to beginners, so I gave it 4 stars.

If you are considering a second barrel, please consider this barrel. Please be sure to try a test throw.

It flies very well. I think it is a good barrel, but it is not for everyone. I think it is a good barrel but not for everyone.
It is my main barrel for throwing at home. (At darts bars, Gomez Type7 is my main barrel.)
I wanted to buy this barrel because a fan of Haruki Muramatsu introduced this barrel in one of his videos.

The feel of this barrel is gentle as it has no grooves or cuts. The maximum diameter is 7.8mm, but I have never felt that it is too thick. I have never felt that it is too thick. The weight is 21.5g, which is equivalent to that of hard darts.
As everyone says, it is quite difficult for the No.5 tip to withstand this weight, and to be honest, it is easy to break. (Tip remover sold by MONSTER is a must-have.)

When I purchased the RISING SUN 2.1, I was not sure about it, but I can't say "this one is better" in a straight line. I don't rotate much, so I went with this one.

My setting is as follows.
TARGET RISING SUN2.2 No.5 MURAMATSU HARUKI
unicorn Gripper360 two-tone medium shaft red
THE POWER Vision Vapor Red Phil Taylor model
Premium Rip Point No. 5
Haruki Muramatsu and Phil Taylor's strongest setting.
This alone is enough to motivate me to play darts, and in fact, the rating has gone up.
