The finger grip on the barrel is quite tight, but thanks to the depression in the back of the barrel, you can get a firm grip without getting lost in the grip.
I was afraid that it might be a little bit sticky because of the change from a no-groove barrel, but when I threw it, I found it to be very easy to throw and the flight was very sharp.
