The PYRO GEN12 is Mitsumasa Hoshino’s 12th-generation signature model, inspired by a motorcycle racing at full throttle and the flames shooting from it. The torpedo-shaped design, with its center of gravity shifted forward, transmits the power of the throw directly forward, delivering a powerful sense of acceleration and sharp flight.

The front features an aggressive “flame cut” design inspired by exhaust flames, delivering strong grip and precise feedback. From the center to the rear, a precise and powerful grip design—inspired by the cylinder heads and mechanical structures of high-performance engines—is incorporated. Speed, power, and blazing momentum. This model embodies the dynamic playing style of Mitsumasa Hoshino, distilled into a single barrel.

Front-biased torpedo shape for maximum propulsion
The PYRO GEN12 features a torpedo shape with a forward-biased center of gravity. It concentrates the power of the throw toward the front of the barrel, generating powerful propulsion that accelerates rapidly from release toward the board. It’s designed to propel the ball forward effortlessly without hesitation, allowing you to send it directly down your intended line.

This aggressive shape is ideal for players who prioritize a speedy sense of acceleration, a sharp, piercing flight, and an aggressive riding style.

High-Speed Flame Cut Inspired by Exhaust Flames
The front section features a sharp flame pattern inspired by the flames shooting from the exhaust of a motorcycle traveling at full speed. The flame lines, precision-machined to perfection, create a powerful visual that evokes speed, heat, and explosive energy.

This flame cut is more than just a decorative design element. The sharply raised cuts securely grip the fingers, providing strong grip and clear feedback. They make it easy to intuitively identify the optimal grip position and stabilize the front grip, effectively transmitting force from the front.

For the first time in the PYRO series, we’ve incorporated front milling with this level of presence. For players who grip the torpedo shape from the front, we’ve evolved the front section from a mere design element into a functional grip area that can be actively utilized.

A Mechanical Grip Inspired by High-Performance Engines
From the center to the rear, the design features a precise, mechanical grip inspired by the engine structure of high-performance motorcycles. The center section evokes the intricate structure of a cylinder head and the mechanical beauty of interlocking metal parts. Precisely engineered cuts give the entire barrel a technical and powerful impression.

The rear section features an alternating arrangement of delta cuts and polygonal rings. By combining cuts of different shapes, the design provides a distinct tactile sensation at the fingertips, allowing for clear recognition of grip positions. It achieves an exquisite balance: offering firm feedback that lets you know your position the moment you grip it, yet not so tight as to hinder release.

The strength of the rear grip was fine-tuned down to the finest detail based on feedback from Mitsumasa Hoshino himself. It is designed to firmly support the fingers, enhancing confidence and control during the throw, while still allowing the fingers to release smoothly upon release.

Rather than simply pursuing a strong grip, the focus was on making it easy to reproduce the same motion every time. By achieving both stability during the hold and a smooth release, it supports powerful yet controlled throws.

“What I like most about this GEN12 is that we were able to successfully incorporate the cuts from the BLAZING SHADOW—which was one of my favorites in the PYRO series—into this new PYRO model with its revised form. Since the grip section is now straight, the barrel designer and I poured a lot of ingenuity and ideas into adapting it to this new shape.

When you actually throw it, you feel a solid texture through your fingers, while still achieving the smooth release that the PYRO series is known for. In particular, we’ve finely tuned the balance between grip and release to prevent missed throws right as the disc leaves your hand.

We crafted this barrel with the hope that as many people as possible would enjoy throwing it. We want not only those who have used PYRO in the past but also first-time users to give it a try. To ensure it’s easy to throw no matter where you grip it, we’ve placed distinct cuts at the front, middle, and rear.
