The grip feeling is different between a regular barrel and a coated barrel. I think the bronze feels more moist. You can see the difference especially with the Raven which has less cuts. Even if you feel that the barrel is slippery, just wipe it and the moist feeling will return.
Also, I think the mentality that not many other people have this product is also a big factor.
