I have been making my own flights using laminated film.
However, they are inevitably thick and do not fit well with regular shafts!
This shaft is perfect for homemade flights because you can adjust the tightness of the flight.

I was using it in combination with a folding flight, but if I tightened it with the flight deeply inserted, the flight would break on the edge. If you are not careful, your precious flight will become useless.
