I bought this because I was using the Gomez 9 and wanted the 8 as well.
I think the octagon cut is strong enough to make the grip easy to decide, but the feel of the disconnect is very good. There is no feeling of sticking to the finger, and the weight helps it to go straight.
The spherical feel that is typical of Torpedo, combined with the weight, makes it very easy to throw.
