I understand that the front has an 8-sided cut and the rear has a 10-sided cut.
My own grips benefit considerably from the 10-sided cut.

I have used both types of Trinidad barrels with the 8-sided cut.
I used both types of barrels, but sometimes I felt discomfort between the cut and my hand while throwing, and after switching from left hand to right hand, I often felt my hand moving around.
I have only added two more cuts, but the grip is as good as a normal cylindrical barrel and I can throw without feeling any stress.

I will buy the hard version when it comes in stock.
